Closures Impacting Access to The Banks
Second Street will be reduced to one lane between the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge and Elm Street beginning the morning of Thursday, July 16. Traffic will be maintained in one lane through the spring of 2027.
I-75 Southbound ramp to W. 2nd Street

Details
- The exit ramp from I-75 South to Second Street (Exit 1A) will be closed Monday, June 29, beginning at 11 p.m.
- This ramp will be closed permanently and replaced with a new ramp to Third Street that will provide access to Second Street.
I-71 Northbound ramp to W. 2nd Street

Details
- The exit ramp from northbound I-71 to Second Street (Exit 1A) will be closed the morning of Thursday, July 16.
- This exit ramp is slated to reopen in the fall of 2028.
- Central Avenue will be closed on August 27 between Third Street and Pete Rose Way for overhead ramp demolition. The road will reopen temporarily for Labor Day weekend on September 4 at noon and will close again on September 8 by 2 a.m. The work is expected to be complete by September 12.
Eastbound W. 6th Street/US 50 ramp to W. 2nd Street

Details
- The exit ramp from eastbound U.S. 50/Sixth Street Viaduct to Second Street will be closed Sunday, June 28, beginning at approximately 10 p.m.
- This ramp will be a permanent closure.
Parking Lot Closures
As construction work to build the new companion bridge to the Brent Spence Bridge begins, the project team will adjust traffic patterns and some parking lot access to ensure work moves forward safely and efficiently.
Many lots will close and then reopen at a later date to maximize the number of spaces while ensuring construction safety.

- Lot under 2nd Street
